The Porter Family

The Porter Family consists of Will, Betty, and Shawn Porter. The Porter Family had early beginnings in West Virginia where the love of sharing the gospel through music was birthed. Betty’s mom, Doyle (Midkiff) Adkins started this ministry many years ago as The Midkiff Family. Many ministries came from the Midkiff family as all of Doyle and Jack’s children have full time ministries. Jack and Doyle, Betty’s parents, along with Will and Betty continued the singing ministry until they felt the call to help hurting children and moved to Sevierville, Tennessee where they worked at the Church of God Children’s home. Will, Betty, Chad and Shawn later moved to North Carolina, after Betty’s Dad went to be with the Lord. Will and Betty, for the past 18 years, have helped hurting children at Broyhill Children's Home. The love of sharing the Gospel in song, however never died, and as Will and Betty’s sons grew older they started again singing as The Masters Touch. Times again changed as Chad was married and moved with his wife, Stacey and 2 beautiful children Austin and Caden to Maryville, Tennessee and are now a part of the ministry at High Praises Church where Betty’s brother, Jackie Lee Midkiff, is the Senior Pastor. Shawn joined the ministry of Betty’s sister and brother-in-law, Dr. Tom and Charlotte Frye as the Youth Director in Charleston, West Virginia where he met his wife Amanda. God redirected the Frye family to Florida where Dr. Frye is the Clinical Director of, The Heart of Florida Youth Ranch, and Charlotte is a Psychological Specialist of the female unit for the Department of Corrections in Ocala, Florida. God also redirected Shawn and Amanda back to North Carolina to join together again the love of singing and proclaiming who Jesus Christ is. They now have a beautiful little girl named Madelyn Brooke, which is better known as “Maddie.”  The Porter Family’s number one goal is to minister to a lost and dying world through their dynamic and exciting southern gospel music.
